An outtake from the sessions for Carolann Solebello's 2013 album, Steel & Salt, "The Great Unknown" has been previously heard only as instrumental underscoring in the 2015 feature film "A Sort of Homecoming" (screenplay by Lynn Reed). Now, as Carolann returns to the theatre in "Trauma, Bonding," a play by Josh Brady premiering at the New York Theater Festival in June 2024, the song has new life and new lyrics inspired by this beautiful story.
