Hello, Friends!
As warm sunbeams land with increasing intensity on my yoga mat each morning, I am slowly emerging from a deep and dark Winter hibernation with a few shows to tell you about…
But first, an update on the NEW ALBUM!
We're very close. All the pieces have been stacked one on the other – voice, guitar, bass, percussion, violin, keyboard – interlocked and solid as a Jenga tower. And as in that game, sometimes the most crucial task in production is the careful removal of just enough pieces to allow light and air to move through while retaining the structural integrity of the tower. I lean toward sonic minimalism, but also recognize the sweet deliciousness of a little ear candy. We are approaching balance and will have something to share with everyone very, very soon.
So, about those SHOWS… New Jersey, Brooklyn, and Maine are on the schedule this month:
- Saturday, May 9th at Thompson Park in Lincroft NJ
- Sunday, May 17th at First Acoustics in Brooklyn NY
- Friday, May 29th at Cadenza in Freeport ME
- Saturday, May 30th at Serenity Ledge House Concerts in Winter Harbor ME
And if that weren't enough, I'm also acting in a ten-minute play this month, WAITING FOR MADDOW, presented as part of an evening of short works at the New York Theater Festival.
So now I'm thinking that long Winter's nap might have actually been a good thing for me...
Stay tuned for Summer shows, and (hopefully) a much more robust performance calendar come Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
Want me in your favorite venue? At your house? In your backyard? Get in touch with my BOOKING AGENT. She's a little scattered, but very sweet. Oddly enough, she also has exactly the same name and phone number as me.
And as always, I wish you love and music and joy and beauty, wherever they may be found. The legendary Emma Goldman famously did not wish to take part in revolution if there were no dancing, and neither do I. Keep moving, keep working, keep singing, and above all, keep dancing!
“I did not believe that a Cause which stood for a beautiful ideal, for anarchism, for release and freedom from conventions and prejudice, should demand the denial of life and joy. . . If it meant that, I did not want it.”
~ Emma Goldman, Living My Life (1931)
